Q:
How big of a fish can I catch with the Fish Pen?
A: The Fish Pen is not intended to be used with fish over 2 pounds. Depending on the type of fish, this could be a fish up to a foot long!
Q:
What age child can I give this to?
A: Because Fish Pen does contain
small parts and because hooks are sharp, this product should not be used by
children under 8 years of age. And remember; always have an adult present
when using this product because it can be dangerous if used unsupervised!
Q: How do I attach the reel?
A: Place the reel on to the rod, making sure that the Attachment Tabs fit into the slots provided. Tighten the slots over the tabs by turning the nut to hold reel in place.
Q: How do I thread the fishing line?
A: Make sure that your line guide holes on each of the segments are lined
up. You can twist each segment if necessary. Push the black Casting Button
(on part of reel closest to your body) to slacken line, and thread fishing
line through each guide hole starting nearest the reel. Tie rubber practice
weight or a hook to the end of your line
Note: You may want to practice casting with the rubber practice weight until
you get the hang of casting!
Q: How do I cast using the fish
pen?
A: Don’t get discouraged. Casting takes a bit of practice!
1.Ensure you are in an open space outdoors, away from tree limbs, power
lines or other obstructions. Do not cast near other people. Hold rod firmly
in one hand.
2. Push and hold Casting Button fully down.
3. Cast normally, by swinging the rod smoothly to your side, and then
forward, releasing the Casting Button as the rod moves past your body. After
you cast, turn the Crank Handle a few times to set the reel.
4. When you want to reel in the fishing line, simply turn the handle on the
side of the reel as you would normally turn a full-sized fishing reel.
Q: What happens if the rod gets stuck when I’m collapsing it?
A: DON’T FORCE IT!!! Forcing it, will cause the rod to snap-sharp splinters may result. Instead, use a gentle twisting motion to free the segment that is stuck. |
